CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY

The majority of our necklaces have been hand-strung or made by hand with care and intention in Zürich. Some of our designs are more durable than others and some are more decorative. Our bracelets and necklaces are made using high quality gemstone beads, freshwater pearls and silver and gold plated findings. Our focus is on stretch bracelets which are made with extra strong jewellery elastic. We advise that you roll your bracelets on and off to avoid over stretching them and putting too much strain on the elastic. We are constantly working on new collections and complementing stacking and layering jewellery.

WATER AND GEMS...

do not mix. Treat your amazing jewellery like you would your grandmother's pearls. Over time the soaps, oils, lotions, and salt from your skin and hand washing or showering with your beads may damage the jewellery. Gemstones should be treated with care. Depending on the semi-precious stone, some are more porous than others. Please contact us before you attempt to clean them for the best instructions how to. It is not recommended to put semi precious stones in an ultra sound machine to clean them or to get silver cleaner on them.

BREAKAGES HAPPEN...

if you feel your jewellery broke prematurely, please refer to the terms and conditions laid out on the website.

STERLING SILVER

All our silver is .925 Sterling Silver which is a type of metal that is made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, typically copper. Sterling silver is a popular choice for jewelry due to its durability and affordability compared to solid gold. It is often used as a base metal for vermeil and gold plated jewelry. It can tarnish over time and with use but but is possible to clean it to restore its former beauty. Please contact us for details “how to”.

GOLD VERMEIL - GOLD FILLED - GOLD PLATED

Our jewellery is made from plated gold using either Gold Vermeil, Gold Filled or Gold Plated elements. (It is important to note that only 100% gold is guaranteed not to wear away with time).

Gold Vermeil: Gold vermeil is a type of jewelry that is made by coating a base metal, typically sterling silver, with a thick layer of gold. The gold used in vermeil must be at least 10 karats and must be at least 2.5 microns thick. It is a more affordable option than solid gold and offers a similar look.

Gold Filled: Gold filled is a type of jewelry that is made by bonding a thick layer of gold onto a base metal using heat and pressure. The gold used in gold filled jewelry must be at least 5% of the total weight of the piece. Gold filled jewelry is more durable than gold plated jewelry, but not as durable solid gold.

Gold Plated: Gold plating is a process where a thin layer of gold is electroplated onto a base metal. The thickness of the gold layer can vary, but it is usually only a few microns thick. Gold plating is also a more affordable option than solid gold and offers a similar look, but it is not as durable as vermeil, filled or solid gold.

As with all jewellery, in order to keep it in pristine condition, please refrain from getting it wet or from body lotions etc. It is highly recommended to remove all jewellery before showering, bathing or swimming and to apply lotions and sun creams on to the skin, allowing therm to dry before putting on your jewellery.
